Hi, I'm Maya

After my daughter was born, I felt like Super Woman. It's my mission to help every mom feel incredible, because you are an absolute badass.

Grad School Wasn't Enough

I always knew I wanted to make a difference. I earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and then went on to pursue further education. As I began grad school, I thought my path would be to study environmental philosophy so I could make an impact in the natural world and protect our environment. Then I had my first baby, and everything changed. There was a new world, a new environment that needed protecting.

I learned so much about pregnancy and how women are routinely failed in the industry of birth. I heard hundreds of personal accounts of traumatic births where women felt that birth was something that happened to them, rather than something they accomplished. I wanted to change that story, and help women to take back control of their bodies and their choices.

As a birth doula, I provide knowledge to my clients so they can make informed decisions that fit their own personal needs. I provide emotional support for laboring women so that their birth story is not one of trauma but one of beauty, strength, and great pride. I help partners and families so that everyone involved feels the power and unity of childbirth. I help new parents to realize their own inner strength and I advocate for my clients' choices in the birthing space.

Babies are not delivered, they are born. Birth is not something that happens to you, it's something you accomplish. You deserve to bask in the glowing pride of your ability to bring life to this world.

A new pregnancy is a new little person to love. It offers a new kind of love between you and your partner, or you and your family. It opens up new avenues for loving yourself and new spiritual understandings of love. I want to walk with you through any fears, questions, or uncertainty you may be feeling, so that you can fully experience all of the new love in your life.
